Welcome to the season of Lent!  I wanted to share with you SIX ways that you and I can grow deeper in our faith during the season of Lent:
 
    1.  Use the daily coin folder that we'll be passing out in church this Sunday as a way to pray.  Each time you place a quarter in your coin folder you can say a prayer for your church, for your pastor (please!) and for God to take you deeper into the faith.
 
    2.  Attend the Millcreek Ministerial Association Lenten worship services and luncheons, each Thursday in Lent, beginning at 12:05pm, at the Westminster Presbyterian Church.
 
    3.  Attend the United Methodist Men's Lenten worship services and breakfasts, each Saturday in Lent, beginning Feb. 27.  The schedule is printed at the bottom of this email.
 
    4.  Join our Wednesday night Bible Study in the sanctuary, from 6:15 to 7:15pm.  I teach it, and we're studying the gospel of Matthew.
 
    5.  Identify with the suffering of Jesus a little bit by giving something up for Lent.  You could fast from food once a week (1, 2 or 3 meals once a week).  Or you could give something up that you enjoy for the entire length of Lent, such as sweets, television, music, movies, reading, etc..
 
    6.  Wake up a 1/2 hour earlier in Lent to spend time reading the Bible and in prayer.
 
    There are hundreds of more ways to grow closer to Jesus this Lent.  Which ways you choose, let's ask God to use this Lent to make us more and more into the image of Jesus!
